You just gotta love pre-school performances, and by this I mean the organized ones with music and singing, not the tantrums they throw when they don't want to go to school! Today was Emmy's Easter Program in the chapel at her school. She was a star performer on center stage singing, smiling and doing the movements like a champ until halfway through the final song when her face deteriorated from a smiling, happy girl to a crying, distraut child. Of course the tears were daintily mopped up by using the skirt of her dress.
Thankfully it was the last number after which she ran to me and into my waiting arms. "What's wrong?", I ask. Through her tears she replies, "It was a sad song." Ahhh, the beginning of the drama years...
