The following is a story that my neighbor, Kelly, wrote when she was watching our cat, Obi, while we were in Thailand...
I guess Obi decided since all of YOU were having such a Grand Adventure, he wanted one of his own!
He traveled far and wide through the deepest parts of the jungle in the darkest of night. He wandered down many a trail and up many a hill. Before long he encountered another Adventurer. Obi decided he wanted to continue along his chosen path, but the Other Adventurer had other plans. This Other Adventurer was grumpy and irritable, and didn't like to share his trail.
The Other Adventurer forcibly convinced Obi to take another pathway. Disillusioned with his Grand Adventure into the jungle, Obi slowly made his way back home. After a very short stop home, he continued his Grand Adventure with a road trip out into town to check into a five star hotel with deluxe accommodations and full room service. He is enjoying his stay, but returning home tomorrow afternoon (Friday) after just a two night stay.
Obi is fine- a little worse for wear for his tangle with the Other Adventurer....a Habu [a venemous snake!]. He got bit not once, but twice! (leave it to him to go the extra yard!) One bite on the lower right paw, one bite on the upper right leg. The vet gave him anti-venom and an IV and wanted to keep him one more night to give him another IV. Mike and I have been in to visit him several times. He is doing well- purring the whole time we are there. I took in his bed for him- he was thrilled with that and jumped right in...the vet assistant got a kick out of that! I got him to eat some ham- he didn't care for the canned food the vet gave him. Left some dry food for him too. I'm going over in the morning to visit with him and he should be able to come home with me in the afternoon.
His right leg is still swollen to twice the size and very tender- he won't put any weight on it yet. Believe it or not, the vet said it is actually better when they get bit in the head!
[I'll spare you picture on this one!]
