Soccer and Eggs

We had a busy, busy Saturday with soccer games times 2 and an Easter Egg hunt organized by yours truly.  The tricky thing is I was down in bed all day yesterday feeling one step above a squished bug, but nonetheless I rallied for the day!  Let's hear it for that invisible, yet powerful, Mom Stamina!

Cannon had his first soccer game at 9 AM (they lost 1-0), and then London had his game at 12 (they tied 3-3 although, technically, they don't keep score in his league!)  Nevertheless, the boys tried hard and had lots of fun.  London got hold of the ball toward the end of the fourth quarter and ran it all the way down field, but missed the goal.  It was really exciting to see him go and he was proud of his efforts as were we.  Emmy told Grammie that she was glad when the game was over because she was tired of hearing her shout [cheer!].  Of course, they were shouting "Go, Tigers!" for half the game even though his team name is Leopards.

After a celebretory lunch out we starting setting up for the First Annual Hill Easter Egg Hunt.  I thought it would be fun with so many kids around to do an Easter egg hunt and it was fun.  We started with a competition for best decorated Easter baskets, then had the four year olds and younger go.  Emmy was distraut that her first egg selection was swooped up by a neighbor boy, but soon turned her tune when she saw all the other options.  The older kids got a chance at finding "hidden" eggs in the back of our units.  Emmy had helped to hide the eggs and I caught her chunkin' some of them well into the middle of the banana plants so who knows when those will be found - and by what?

(Emmy and her bunny box.  The kids designed it themselves!)

(Cannon and his basket - a contraption that had a shoot for the eggs to drop in and a secret door to get them out.  He won "Most Original")

(Off to the eggs for Emmy - in pink)

(They were trading candy like they trade Pokemon cards!)

I'm off to rest up for the excitement of tomorrow...
