Karaoke

Last July the neighbors all went to karaoke and it was one of the most fun times I've ever had.  Not much fun the next morning, but that's another story!  For some reason, we haven't been back since, but Friday night was a birthday party for one of our neighbors at "The Big Echo" and we headed back.

Japanese karaoke is just fun.  Period.

It's not like in the States where you have to stand up in front of the whole bar and sing your piece.  No, in Japan you have your own private room with your own machine, tables, benches and phone to order in drinks and food!  There are also tambourines and maracas to make musical accompaniment, but we didn't find those until we were leaving.

I love the huge catalog of songs to choose from including "Disney Songs" and "wedding songs".  There were also all genres of English songs and, of course, a HUGE catalog of Japanese songs.

One of the best parts are the videos that go with the songs.  They usually have nothing to do with the song.  Like the pictures of the Grand Canyon with the song "Sweet Home Alabama".  I know it's been a while since we've been in the States, but I'm fairly certain these types of hills don't exist in Alabama.

Don't we just look like we're having fun?  I don't know what's funnier - Dima's face or his Krimp's (his wife)?

Lisa and John (the birthday boy).  They didn't play fair as they both had excellent voices!

Stevie and Dima rockin out to some song!

A rare photo of me (and I'm singing!)

Krimp was such a sport as she is having her baby in 5 days!
